Redlands Mommy and Me Session by Heidi Grace
Redlands, Ca | Mommy + Me Session | Inland Empire
When I became a mom a few years ago, my whole world changed. It was like a rebirth of my soul. I was still me, but different. Better. Stronger. And somehow, wiser. I loved absolutely everything about being a mom. I love snuggling with my little babe, dressing her up in cute clothes, watching her grow and learn, and especially loved having a new muse for my photography.
I didn’t start offering Mommy and Me sessions until my second year of business. And that was only after someone inquired with me. I don’t know why it never crossed my mind to offer them before. But, now all these years later, I simply cannot imagine not holding them every year. While there is no age limit for mommy and me sessions, the majority of moms that book are ones with small children. (Hint hint! Moms with older kids, let’s do this!) I’m not sure if that’s because smaller kids seem to change so quickly, and moms want that to be documented, or if at some point older children may not agree to having a session done.

I met Lauren a few years ago when she was first starting her Fit4Mom business. Check out more info on her mom and baby based fitness group here. It was an immediate friendship with Lauren. Her little boy Sawyer stole my heart from the get, and the rest is history. Her littlest guy Rhett joined their family in 2017 and I knew he was special. I’m still working on him though. He’s more of your, “Lady, leave me alone and maybe I’ll give you a few good smiles” during the session type. I love his determination and he always keeps Lauren and I on our toes during a session.
Like I mentioned before, her oldest son Sawyer stole my heart years ago. Maybe it’s because we are both strawberry blondes, and if I were to ever have a son, I imagine he’d look just like him. Or maybe it’s because he has THE most beautiful eyes and at every session he is always so excited to see me. Oh, and he gives the best hugs EVER! Lauren is one the kindest and hard working moms I’ve met. The love she has for her family is second to none.
I know we live in an age of taking a million photos of our kids on our cell phones, but there is something so magical about stopping and taking the time to join our children in a photo. I read a quote recently that said something to the effect of, “Pictures show that we have lived.” It’s ok to treat yo’self Mama. Get dressed up. Do you hair. Buy a new outfit, and get some photos taken with your babes.
Ok, I’ll stop rambling now, but first I want to say thank you Lauren. Thank you for putting up with all my antics. For stopping on the side of a back road because I saw the most gorgeous light and some trees with purple flowers. Thank you for being so kind and loving and for our friendship. You da best! Ok, now I’m done. Onto the good part. Scroll down to see some sneak peeks of Lauren and her little men from their mommy + me.
