Inland Empire Photographer | Fresh 48 Session | Redlands, Ca
Every birth has it’s own story. They can be emotional and raw. Rewarding, and filled with excitement and anticipation for your new tiny babe. Labor may last hours or even days, and your memory of it becomes fuzzy and details start to seem unclear. That’s where your Fresh 48 story begins…
I received a text from Starr the afternoon before she had baby Aria. I wished her good luck and said a quick prayer that her labor and delivery would go smoothly, and she would be holding her new baby soon. That night I went to bed excited for the G family. I’ve known them for a few years now, and have been honored to document some of their most precious memories. The next morning, Starr texted me to say she had the baby. We quickly set a time for me to come to the hospital to shoot their Fresh 48 session. I was excited to me their new baby girl.
I knocked on the hospital room door and let myself in. I quickly said hello to everyone and got caught up on the latest happenings. Starr had given birth at 4:48am. Aria Lee weighed 8lbs 7oz and was 19 inches long. I could see the excitement and happiness on both parents faces, but I knew they were running on empty. Neither had slept much in the last 24 hours. So I did what any other mom that has been in those utterly exhausted shoes would of done, and made their session simple, sweet and fast. They needed sleep and I did not want to stand in the way of that by dragging their Fresh 48 session on for longer than it needed to be.
Meeting Baby Aria
And there she was, Aria Lee. Quietly sleeping in the hospital bassinet snuggly wrapped with a head full of gorgeous dark hair…she looked like a tiny angel. I snapped away for the next 20-30 minutes, guiding the G family so we could get the shots I had in mind for them. I wanted these first few moments with her to be real and authentic. No one is expected to be perfect and polished at a Fresh 48 session. Sometimes sessions take place only hours after giving birth. I always tell my mom’s to put on some comfy clothes and try and relax.
I have had the honor of watching this family grow over the last few years. When I met Maddox, he was only a few months old and just learning to sit. What the heck universe do I live in that I am so blessed to do this? My hobby turned into a career. Pinch me so I know this isn’t a dream. Thank you G family for allowing me to be one of the first to meet your little girl. Thank you for including me in some of your family’s most precious moments. Without further ado, meet baby Aria.
