Why Do they Have To Grow Up?
Why is it so hard for us mother’s to accept that our little ones will grow up? Everyone has heard the the saying, “The days are long, but the years are short.” I feel like that should be the anthem to motherhood. Days seem to drag on with the same routine. Day in and day out, we do the best we can to feed, nurture, and love them they way they need it. Then one day you look down, and your baby isn’t a baby anymore. They’ve lost the roundness to their face. Leg and arm rolls disappear into long, lean limbs. Opinions on outfits and shoe choices become a daily battle. Reaching for your hand on the walk into the store, becomes less and less. None of this is a bad thing, it’s just life. But man, I do wish sometimes that they would never grow up. While we want them to grow big and strong, there are moments we wish we could “do-over”, or relive. One of the things I cherish most, is all the photographs I have of my daughter. I love looking back at them and reliving those moments. Sometimes they might even be memories that I’ve forgotten. When I’m at a session, I try and let my creativity flow. We can play games, tell jokes, dance like crazy people, all to capture the love you share. I want to capture your memories and moments together.
As mothers, we tend to avoid getting in pictures. We have countless pictures on our phones, most of them of our babies. Ultimately, we are documenting their lives void of us. They want to look back and see you WITH them. This year, I hope to give that back to you. Let’s play, laugh, and capture memories with your littles.
P.S. We played Simon Says during this session and Mom won!
